SaveThem India Foundation began in Mumbai in 2012 as a group of volunteers. Twelve years on, we work across education, healthcare, the environment, women's empowerment and social welfare — in eight states, and with a name on every parcel.

We stay past the first delivery. Children are followed through school, patients through their treatment, and communities through the seasons that come after the vans have gone.

How We Got Here
Over a Decade of Purpose
From humble beginnings in a Mumbai community hall to a nationally recognised foundation — here is how our story unfolded.

Founded in Mumbai
A group of volunteers working on community healthcare in Mumbai's underserved neighbourhoods. No office, no funding — a handful of people and a list of families.

The first thousand
Education and nutrition joined the work, and we crossed a thousand people supported. Small enough that we still knew most of their names.
- 2018Registered nationally
FCRA and 80G
National recognition. We could accept international donations, issue tax-deductible receipts, and work beyond Maharashtra.

Covid relief
Three hundred volunteers moved oxygen, food kits and medicine to more than two thousand families through the second wave. The hardest year, and the one that proved the model.

Five thousand people supported, across a hundred communities. The same method as 2012, in more places.
How Giving Works Here
What Happens to a Rupee
Most giving disappears into a general fund. Here it buys a specific thing, for a specific person, on a specific day — and you are told which.
You buy a thing, not an amount
Fifty meals at ₹30, not “a donation”. The price belongs to the foundation and the total is worked out here, so you know exactly what your money turns into before you give it.
Your name goes on it
The name you ask for is printed on the label the family is handed, along with the occasion if there is one. A birthday, a memory, a thank you — it travels with the parcel.
You see it reach somebody
Where a cause carries a photograph, every parcel is photographed as it is served and sent back to you. Not a sample, and not a stock picture — yours.
The paperwork follows you
Leave a PAN and the 80G receipt comes to you on WhatsApp. Nothing to chase, and nothing to ask twice for.
